Lake Taneycomo fishing report

Taneycomo Jan 15

Trout fishing for rainbows on Lake Taneycomo has been pretty close to "excellent" the last couple of weeks and I don't use the word excellent very often to describe fishing. I was once told to say fishing was excellent would be say everyone is catching fish. That's pretty much what it is right now. And the quality of rainbows is the best many anglers have seen it in many years.

Lake Taneycomo fishing report, December 30

Another year has passed.   Hundreds of thousands of trout have been stocked into Lake Taneycomo, and hundreds of thousands have bent the rods of many happy anglers.  Can you imagine that number?  How many first-time fishers caught their first fish, let alone trout?  How many caught their first fish on a fly rod?  On a jig?  The smiles, the memories, the stories that will be told for many generations to come.  Even the "unpleasant" experiences -- yes, especially those!  The cold, the snow, the rain, falling in the lake, getting a hook stuck in the finger, breaking off the big one -- all those stories seem to stand out, never to be forgotten.

Winter Resort Projects

It's wintertime again and that means working on resort projects--while people aren't around.  I think there are some business owners that generally get burned out by a long season of taking care of guests/clients.  Yes, that's work but we like that kind of work here at the Landing.  But we like working on projects in the winter too.  Work is good for the soul!

Nehemiah 6.  Nehemiah has finished the walls around Jerusalem and word is getting around that God's people are strengthening their position.  Leaders from around the region have great respect for Jews; they are afraid of what might happen if the city is successfully fortified against attack -- they themselves are vulnerable to attack.  So a dialogue is opened between neighboring countries and Israel.
