Set aside yesterday (Tuesday) for fishing. Thought about heading to a different place I decided to stay home and fish Taneycomo. Wanted to wade all morning but the Corp decided to run water all day so boat fishing I did. Eric Evans (ciRe on the forum) wanted to go along so we loaded up and headed uplake about 8 am.
As my first blog under "Devotional," I just wanted to convey a little about where I'm at in my view of life. It's not that complicated -- I actually try to keep it as simple as possible because I am not brilliant and don't multi-task well. KISS is my moto: Keep It Simple, Stupid. My writing skills are marginal. My wife, Marsha, a journalism graduate from the University of Kansas, edits most of my fishing reports, mainly because they're posted on our business site for all to see. This blog, not so much.
This is only the first entry I will make about my dad who passed away on September 26th of this year. There is so much to say, so much to write about him it will take the rest of my life to finish. But for today, I wanted to share a special moment he and my mom had just 11 days before he died.
Mom and dad have been followers of Jesus for decades. They had made it a daily practice to read the Bible and pray each morning before starting their busy schedule. But dad's illness had taken most of his energy and his mind was foggy. He had not been up to praying for more than a week so mom prayed for both of them as well as reading their daily passages from the Word.
My Cardinals lost tonight. I've been a Cardinal fan since I was a kid growing up in Parsons, KS. Most of us boys were brought up Cards fans. Last years series was incredible but this year's team couldn't possibly pull off the same miracle comebacks.
Brad Case is an avid Card fan. He's a young accountant here in Branson. We attend the same church and at the Sunday morning service we were discussing momentum.
Momentum in sports is that intangible weapon each coach, player each team searches for and we certainly saw momentum play apart of this series.
Generation - no much with the exception of one day this week when they ran quite a bit all day. It did clean the lake out, at least the upper end. They've been running "fish water" in the evenings, about 2 hours of a half unit. Check the SPA schedule, but don't rely on it 100%. They do change it without notice.
