See or not to see

Jesus is speaking to a crowd in parables (Matt 13).  His disciples asked why He spoke this way and Jesus said it was so that those that could hear would hear His intent and those who could not hear would not.  Some would "get it" and some would not.  What made the difference was each individual's HEART.

Jesus quotes Isaiah 6:9-10

“‘You will be ever hearing but never understanding;
    you will be ever seeing but never perceiving.
15 For this people’s heart has become calloused;
    they hardly hear with their ears,
    and they have closed their eyes.
Otherwise they might see with their eyes,
    hear with their ears,
    understand with their hearts
and turn, and I would heal them."

Who sees and who doesn't?  And by who's standard?

If we were to go by the world's standard then pretty much anything goes.  Who's to judge?  Different world cultures each judge by their social customs and beliefs that come from past experiences.  To bring sanity back into our lives, there must be an absolute standard, absolute truth which I believe (and base my life on) is based on God, His existents, His Word, His love.

Condition of the HEART is the key.  Ask and you will receive.  Ask God for understanding and wisdom and He is faithful to give.  Keep your knee bent before Him and put others before yourself.  If you can't do it, seek out people who appear to be wise and godly and ask for help.
